You might already know about the environmental harm caused by palm oil, but there’s another monoculture crop that’s taken over much of the planet’s arable land: soy.
Soy monoculture farms overuse agrochemicals and necessitate deforestation, contribute to atmospheric carbon, degrade soil and supplant existing ecosystems. And yes, everyone one of these impacts has its’ own consequences, and each of those impacts has consequences, and on and on it goes.
